Staying Hydrated!

I have come to realize that many people are unaware of the benefits of staying hydrated. When talking about preventative maintenance, drinking water is probably the best thing we can do. Do you know that 60% of our body is made up of water? Every system in our body is dependent on proper hydration. Dehydration is one of the most common, underlying causes of ailments in today’s society.

One way to combat dehydration is to create a daily habit. Each morning, start with a lemon-infused, room temperature glass of water. This gives the body a gentle “wake up” before you start with coffee or tea. Adding a lemon is also going to give you a cellular “charge” to get you ready for all the tasks at hand.


Another tip would be to monitor how much water you are taking in each day. We should consume half our body weight, in ounces, every single day. Now, if you are more active than the average person, you may want to consider a bit more.

These are just a few simple tips to help you live a more balanced lifestyle. And remember, when you begin to feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated. Listen to your body; it knows what it needs!
